Responsibilities
- Design and development of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
- Accurately comprehend stated internal and external (customer) requirements into a concept and ultimately detailed design using the following 3D CAD tools SolidWorks and PDM.
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, drawing, and documents to accurately depict the designed components allowing the procurement and manufacture of the component.
- Work within a team to help guide the work of others: organize, schedule, and review work.
- Test, troubleshoot, and provide solutions to technical problems with preventative measures.
- Manage changes through engineering and procurement to ensure that program goals are met.
- Work on project plans and other project-related documentation that covers complementary deliverables alongside the Engineering output.
- Regularly reviews with peers to ensure the scope and direction of the tasked project is on schedule, accurate and complete.
- Ability to interface with the internal resources for all technical aspects of a project.
- Motivated self-starter that proactively identifies areas of need and improvement.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, and the general public.
- Collaborative and team-based approaches to problem-solving, with an emphasis on project completion and schedule.
- Detail-oriented approach to design, including BOM and drawing accuracy.
- Proficient at reading and interpreting technical documentation.
- Problems are broad, complex, and abstract, often involving company-wide issues. Must develop solutions using substantial creativity, resourcefulness, innovation, negotiation, and diplomacy.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience REQUIRED
- Experience with big builds PREFERRED
- Experience in Biotech PREFERRED
- Proficient in CAD software for 3D design and 2D drawing creation (e.g., SolidWorks).
- Understanding of electronic document control systems (SolidWorks PDM).
- Familiarity with industry standards, materials, and basic design principles. (e.g., GD&T and ASME Y14.5 industry standard documentation practices.).
- Experience with custom machinery, complex assemblies, machined parts, skid design, sheet metal, process piping, and structural design is a plus.
- Ability to read and create component drawings, assembly drawings, mechanical diagrams, Process flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams, Bill of materials and manufacturing instructions.
- Knowledge of testing criteria. (e.g., FAT and SAT).
- Technical understanding of various automation and electromechanical systems.
- Knowledge of laboratory practices and equipment.
- Experience working with electronics and motors.
- Basic programming knowledge as it pertains to automation and systems integration,
- Experience in a design and manufacturing environment certified to ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
