Position Summary

The Accountant will report to the Controller and support with global financial operations including the preparation of reports, processes, and gathering of data. This role will also be the primary point of contact for EU and Asia based AES clients and be responsible for maintaining client relationships. Under the direction of the Controller, this position will also support the creation of strategic financial planning processes for global operations. This position will also be expected to work with cross-functional teams throughout AES’s global organization including but not limited to Sales and Human Resources.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain records for financial transactions, prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, and process reimbursements.
  • Manage client relations, checking data accuracy in sales orders and invoices, and maintaining and updating sales and customer records.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for EU and Asia clients and establish ongoing relationships as needed.
  • Create reports based on sales data at regular intervals and present appropriate data to support senior management in making the appropriate business decisions.
  • Prepare and post receipts, deposits, purchase orders, invoices, refunds, and other standard bookkeeping tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management to create a sales strategy based on market research and sales data.
  • Support the finance department in reconciling accounts payable and receivable.
  • Stay current with all regulations, requirements, and laws.
  • Ensure the processing of timely bank payments and contact delinquent accounts.
  • Ability to keep the highest standards of compliance and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and file company tax documents.
  • Prepare and submit payroll.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Fluent proficiency in English and German
  • 2+ years in a finance-based role, client-based preferred
  • BA / BS in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships – developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work – developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work assigned.
  • High level of critical thinking and logical analysis
  • Accounting software – Intuit QuickBooks, Microsoft Office 365, DATEV
  • Business intelligence and data analysis
