Fabricator/Welder

Position Summary

Fabricator oversees and supports various functions for multiple product lines to create and fabricate housings for AES products globally. This role is functional in trades such as welding, assembly, design, and troubleshooting of production elements to meet production goals. The BPE Fabricator II will offer recommendations to ensure efficiencies and streamlining. This role is also client-facing and will travel to client sites as requested to maintain and/or repair AES manufactured products.

DUTIES

  • Identify components from BOM, assist with BOM creation from User Requirements
  • Following the P&ID, assemble parts accurately in order with proper slope
  • Fuse by order of GTAW / TIG welding various stainless components
  • Ability to know and understand different types of welding methods and proper methods for the task at hand.
  • Knowledge and ability to inspect and perform Orbital Welding
  • Creation and completion of Weld Logs
  • Inspect welds as a QID-1 Level Inspector
  • Support and creation of Weld Process Specifications
  • Proficiently and solely perform GTAW / TIG Welding.
  • Support creation of BOM
  • Review and understanding of User Requirements
  • Review of P&ID
  • Review of Lead Sheets
  • Interface with outside vendors
  • Support in component selection
  • Provide information to procurement
  • Perform mechanical layout from BOM components using P&ID
  • Engage and influence the design of equipment for the best function, with cost reduction in mind
  • Use CAD to support panel design as needed
  • Represent AES as a Field Service Engineer on an as-needed basis
  • Thorough Knowledge of Electrical Theory
  • Working knowledge of OEM-built AES equipment and ability to troubleshoot and repair as necessary
  • Perform mechanical/electrical service work on AES equipment.
  • Ability to survey existing customer facilities for adequate Utilities to support AES equipment.
  • Understanding of GMPs
  • Provide general labor support for both the Fabrication Shop and the Panel Building Shop
  • Good Communication Skills, both written and verbal
  • Overall, all Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Knowledge and proficiency in safely operating equipment

requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of Surface Finishes, Materials of Construction, with a review of MTR’s and Heat Numbers
  • Read and understand MFG’s installation guidelines
  • Interpret shop drawings, ability to precisely cut various materials to proper angles and lengths using a variety of shop tools
  • Knowledge of protractor, level, square, and other measuring devices in order to complete tasks
  • GTAW / TIG Welding experience
  • P&ID, CAD skils
  • GMP knowledge
  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control processes
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
